Space Space Shooter story explanation

Someone on Newgrounds asked me about the story for Space Space Shooter. They were a bit confused, so I wrote out what exactly happened in the video. I figured I’d post it here too for anyone that needs a better understanding on whats going on…

Basically, the witch, Lepunza, was locked away way back in the past. This was all due to the help of the galaxy defenders. Since then, her minions, still loose, have been trying to find ways to bring her back. The video game (disPLAY, disGO) is a device used by the witch to harness energy for her return. The more people play the game, the more energy it sends to her to break the seal the galaxy defenders put on her on the moon. The game itself is kind of a commentary on media in general, how fast things spread in so little of time. The girl in the video was preoccupied by reading to pay enough attention to what was initially going on.

The girl herself isn’t immune to the game, but she realizes that it is causing the people to get hypnotized. Eventually she gets the idea that doing something with the game has to do something with the black hole (witch, Lepunza) forming outside. She uses the PSP-spoof to venture outside and figure out what is going on. Luckily the will of the galaxy defenders is on her side, that is what causes the game to glitch out and bring her to the final level with a fully powered up character. You’ll notice at the end, she actually becomes hypnotized as she points the system towards the black hole. Luckily by this time, the galaxy defenders, have beaten her game, which in turn is what the ray is that gets shot out of her system. This is used to seal her away back on the moon. It also loosens the hypnotic grip she has on everyone.

Hopefully this helps to explain it a little more.

My second collaboration with Seattle-based chiptunes/electronic artist and vocalist LEENI.

This is a conclusion piece to the “Headphones On Your Heart” animation I did a couple years ago. It’s a short which involves Leeni getting summoned into the 8-Bit Heart game world. She finally gets to leave reality behind and jump into an almost dream-like world. But who, or what, has summoned her there?

I did a collab with Disko Warp, who remixed the theme from the Mega Man 10 trailer. My entry is just a loop of Pump Man doing what he does best, heh. This is a small play on the whole Jersey Shores thing with his crazy fist pumping.

Well, I’m about 70% done with my new animation, so I figured I should release some pics of it! I posted these on my deviantart already, but if you don’t frequent that site, then here you go!

Heres a quick screen cap from my new animation! I revealed the girl in my Sakuracon poster earlier. I figured I’d give you guys a clearer pic of her in full color! I’m starting to progress nicely on the animation. I’m not sure when I’ll get it done, but its coming along.

I’ll leave you for now with this picture. I’ll be sure to post some more as I continue the animation. For now just enjoy this happy girl!

This is basically the story about a girl meeting a new friend (a Pixel) after getting her heart broken. I'm going to try and have this up and running on Youtube soon as well. I hope you guys enjoy it!
